Back in October I signed up for Sewchet’s #stitchingsanta, having thoroughly enjoyed the one I took part in last year. A big thank you to Sheila for all of her time, energy and effort coordinating this blog-based Secret Santa.

My #stitchingsanta was one of two parcels I was especially excited to open on Christmas Day. The other was, of course from Nat. When it arrived, the contents had been grouped into one neat parcel, wrapped in silver paper. I restrained myself from giving it too much of a squeeze, so when it came, the grand opening led to some lovely surprises.

Inside the parcel there were so many things! With a label reading For a Bettine, there was a large piece of fabric and the requisite elastic. The Bettine is quite possibly my favourite pattern of 2015: my #stitchingsanta had clearly done her homework!

There was another dress pattern, and as dresses are my favourite thing to make, this was something else that was spot on!

I was lucky enough to also receive some stunning handmade gifts in my parcel. People never fail to astonish me both with how generous and how talented they are. All of the contents of my #stitchingsanta were contained within this gorgeous bag:

I can think of so many possible uses for such a beautiful bag, and I would really like to find the pattern because I just love it! Inside there was also this clever needle case:

There was an adorable, lavender-filled owl, which could be sheer chance, but was perfect because of my love of all things bird-related.

A very sweet little sewing machine decoration or charm:

I have glimpsed a couple of #stitchingsanta posts on my WordPress reader so far, and am so looking forward to seeing all of the beautiful items that were given and received. I hope you were happy with yours, thanks again Sheila 🙂
