Seven days, seven photos, created by Nat and designed to encapsulate your week.

Almost midway through the half term and the week that led up to my school summer fair, known as Party in the Yard, was always going to be hectic. With that in mind, let’s see how far I can get in collating photos from the last seven days.

1.  A giant conifer was removed from my garden. The remaining one belongs to next door. Not my ideal way to spend a Sunday, though the garden seems to have opened up a little.

2.  Even when I don’t have chance to sew, I try to keep my hand in by reading or at least thinking about sewing. Even though it might be a late post, I am hoping to take part in Nat’s Simplicity 1873 Cynthia Rowley sew along. Below were possible fabric choices from my stash …

3. I eventually gave in to temptation and ordered this:

4.  When the tree removal happened, a rose bush got damaged in the garden, so I trimmed off the blooms to enjoy indoors instead. They were even perfumed.

5.  Not the sunniest week for dog walks, and not the most distance covered either, but I’ve still walked a couple of miles each day, of course with the dogs.

 6.  Party in the Yard 2015 came and went. And it went well! One of the events was the unveiling of some new art work created by Year 5 in conjunction with the local Harley Gallery. It looks stunning. Very excited that the partnership will continue next year.

 7. Of course, when the day was over and I went out for a wander, it brightened up and though it was early the traffic was quiet for a moment. I took advantage whilst enjoying the surroundings.

This week definitely ended on a high. There’s still a lot to do and a jam-packed diary before the summer, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Outside of work, here’s hoping for a week of warm sunshine, a spot of sewing, and a little time to stop and smell the roses.
